Childcare Training

At present the CTRC carries out training on behalf of its parent company the Clare Family Resource Centre. (Current Childcare Classes.) Staff Training in is a key element to the success and development of the CFRC's Centre and Creche facilities. We run a FAS scheme with 21 Community Employment participants providing a wide range of staff training including:

  • Basic Childcare Training
  • Highscope Training
  • Special Needs Training
  • Equal Opportunities
  • First Aid
  • Arts and Crafts
  • Music and Drama
  • Manual Lifting and Handling
  • Health and Safety
  • Fire Prevention
  • Stay Safe Child Protection Programme
  • HACCP food safety
  • Personal and Social Development
  • "We encourage and empower our Community Employment participants by providing these opportunities leading to Certified Childcare Training Skills, personal development and eventually employment. Providing a safe and secure environment for the children in our care is of utmost importance to us. Two members of our team have completed the Children First (Child protection) Training for Trainers Course with the Mid West HSE."

    Work Placement

    As a training centre we provide work placements for students who are participating in childcare or teacher training and need to gain practical experience in a childcare environment. The Clare Family Resource Centre has worked with:

    FETAC Level 5 Childcare (Steiner/Waldorf)

    We are pleased to annouce that our new FETAC Level 5 Childcare Training Course, taught from a Waldorf perspective began in Spring, 2011. This one year, part time course is Ireland's first FETAC Level 5 Childcare course that emphasizes the Steiner Waldorf approach to working with the young child, the fastest growing education impulse in the world today.
